Painted Narratives: Preserving History Through the Art of Story-telling | Spotlight Exhibition
An experiential exhibition showcasing the history of narrative art in the Indian subcontinent and how it continues as a Living Tradition, with a focus on the unique painting styles of each region of India and its people. Painted imageries of Folk-art traditions ignite imagination, evoke emotions and capture universal cultural truths and aspirations. The selection on view demonstrates an array of individual styles inspired by different creative environments steeped in tradition and often created by self-taught artists and artisans.
